The language courses for
the 2013-2014 Spring term at the
Kurdish Institute of Istanbul have started. There are 12 new classes given at
different levels of the 3 dialects of Kurdish namely Kurmancî, Zazakî and Soranî in
the spring term.
Students with different
backgrounds, nationalities and languages are attending our courses.
If you are a foreigner in Turkey and hesitate to come to our institute because you think that being proficient in don’t hesitate and come to start learning Kurdish.
The elementary classes consist of students who
are not Kurdish in origin but want to learn Kurdish as a foreign language. The students
at the intermediate level are Kurdish people who want to be literate in their
mother tongue and students who have completed the elementary level course. The students
at the advanced level are the ones who have successfully completed the
intermediate level course and want to proceed in the language.
We aim at providing
everyone who wants to learn Kurdish with an opportunity to attend our courses. We
know that foreigners living in Turkey who want to learn Kurdish think that they
need to speak Turkish in order to attend Kurdish courses. However, Turkish is
not a prerequisite to learn Kurdish at the Institute. We are planning to have a
special Kurmancî class which will be given by a multilingual (Kurdish, English,
Turkish, etc.) teacher. If you are a foreigner in Turkey and hesitate to come to
our institute because you think that being proficient in Turkish is required to
participate in a Kurdish course in Turkey, don’t hesitate and come to start
learning Kurdish. The deadline for registration is 30thMarch.
