The Kurdish Institute of Istanbul republished the journal “Rojî Kurd” which was published for the first time by the Kurdish Student Association Hêvî in 1913. In this new version of the journal the texts in Kurdish were Arabic scripts transliterated into Latin scripts and the texts in Ottoman Turkish were transliterated into Latin scripts and translated into modern Turkish. The “Rojî Kurd” prepared by the Kurdology Studies Group was presented to the interested readers with a special edition by the Kurdish Institute of Istanbul.
In the Ottoman Empire of the post-constitutional period, Kurdish Student Association Hêvî which was founded by Kurdish students wanted to contribute to the Kurdish enlightenement by this journal and its other publications. Articles by some intellectuals such as Halil Hayali, Abdullah Cevdet, İsmail Hakkı Babanzade, Süleymaniyeli Abdulkerim and M. Salih Bedirhan were also published in this journal.
The “Rojî Kurd” is a piece that everyone who is interested in the history of Kurdish media, Kurdish intellectuals of the Ottoman period and Kurdish nationalism, etc. must have.
